Maya app users get digital wallet boost

The Maya app users can now fund their digital wallet with a few taps on their smartphones.

This has been made possible after a partnership between payment infrastructure platform Xendit and the China Banking Corp.

The pair have launched the China Bank Direct Debit. This new feature allows customers to safely and easily fund their Maya account directly from their China Bank account.

Xendit Philippines Managing Director Yang Yang Zhang told The Manila Times: “At Xendit, we recognize the importance of cashless transactions in this time of digitization. That’s why we continue to do partnerships that lead to more simple and secure cashless payment options for Filipinos.”

Maya Philippines Chief Operating Officer Khurram Malik added: “Making convenient cashless payments more accessible is one of our top priorities at Maya, and this starts with providing a simple and seamless cash-in experience to our users. This is why we are pleased to work with China Bank and Xendit as we offer more ways for Filipinos to handle their finances.”

China Bank Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Manuel Tagaza commented: “The days when people had to physically go to our bank for every financial transaction have overall dwindled. To meet the changing needs of customers, we must provide innovative financial services relevant in the digital world. Partnering with Xendit has now allowed us to offer convenience to our clients who use the Maya app for some of their financial needs.”
